The Leo Bernstein Jewish Academy of Fine Arts, now in its sixth year, is an innovative Jewish Day School in Silver Spring. We are a STEAM school with focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Music and Math in a small class environment. We are responsive to every child's needs. We have devoted and creative teachers and an exciting curriculum that allows a child’s imagination and love of learning to flourish. Weekly Portion: Ha’azinu Deuteronomy 32

The portion ends is a song, a poem taught to the Jewish people by Moshe. It recounts the trials and tribulations of the Jewish people during the 40 years in the desert. Jewish consciousness, until the present generation, was to teach every Jewish child to memorize Ha’azinu. In this manner we internalized the lessons of our history, especially the futility of rebelling against the Almighty.

Weekly Portion: Nitzavim-Vayelech, Deuteronomy 29-31

On the day of Moshe’s death he assembles the whole Jewish people and creates a Covenant confirming the Jewish people as the Almighty’s Chosen People (chosen for responsibility to be a light to the nations) for all future generations.
